Understanding the Client: We believe in treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. This involves exploring their family and medical history, understanding the demands of their lifestyle, sport, and addressing any misconceptions or older narratives regarding their condition. Components of the BioPscyoSocial model are incorporated into the history.
Biomechanic Screen: We perform a comprehensive review of your body's mechanics, looking at how forces and tensions interact within your body, often uncovering root causes of pain that may lie away from the affected area.
Neuromechanic Screen: We assess your neuromechanics to identify protective patterns like weakness, imbalance, and altered motor-sensory patterns. This screening helps us understand your nervous system's unique adaptation to movement, performance, and injury.
Soft Tissue Screen: We evaluate your soft tissue health, identifying areas of tension or adhesion that may require targeted treatment and self-care. This step reveals insights about past traumas and patterns of use.
Orthopaedic and Joint Mechanics: Incorporating traditional orthopaedic screening and chiropractic joint palpation, we evaluate your joint health and function during each visit.
Movement Screen: We use the Selective Functional Movement Screen (SFMA) to assess your weight-bearing movement patterns. Gait, running, and breathing patterns are also evaluated to uncover any postural challenges or body asymmetries.
Putting the Pieces Together: By combining all these tools and assessments, we can create a comprehensive understanding of your health, enhancing our problem-solving capabilities and providing you with a more personalized treatment plan.
